Ahart Insurance Services is located in the heart of the Central Valley, in Fresno, CA. Ahart Insurance Services has been built upon a tradition of integrity, industry leadership, and excellence. Through initiative and follow-through, we help our customers find answers, implement solutions, and achieve long-term goals.   Many agencies claim to “specialize” in a number different types of business insurance services.  However, in actuality, when agencies broaden their services to include every type of insurance service possible, what they are really doing is cheapening all of them rather than bringing real value to one of them.  At Ahart Insurance Services we believe in focusing in on our core competency – which is employee benefits.

Following his graduation from California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration / Finance, Dan accepted a position with Aetna US Healthcare as an Account Executive. While he obtained valuable experience in analyzing and developing valuable employee benefit packages at Aetna, his client focused nature lead him to make a move to the agent side of the industry.

Since joining the ABIS sales team in 2000, Dan has been a vital part in expanding the agency’s overall book of business. His ability to keep the client’s needs at the forefront of a project has made him a valuable part of client retention and satisfaction.

Dan has the added responsibility of keeping a pulse on the ever changing insurance industry. As a result of his regular discussions with the insurance company representatives, he is continually finding innovative ways to enhance the products and services offered to our clients.

In 2006 Dan became minority shareholder of Ahart Benefit Insurance Services. On October 2013, along with his business partner Jenni Villane, they purchased 100% of the remaining shares and officially opened Villane Ward Insurance Services dba Ahart Insurance Services.

Jenni began her insurance career in 1994 as a large client service representative at Aetna US Healthcare.  She joined Ahart Benefit Insurance Services in 1997 in a staff support position.  During her time with ABIS she was involved in every aspect of the day-to-day function of the company.  Her familiarity of the operational needs of the company led to her promotion to Vice President of Operations in 2003.  In 2005 Jenni, along with Dan Ward, became minority owners of Ahart Benefit Insurance Services. In 2013 the duo purchased the remaining shares of the company from then owner, Jack W. Ahart, and began to operate under the business name Ahart Insurance Services.

Jenni’s primary focus is the daily operation of the company from a staff and client service standpoint.  However, her insurance background lends itself to assist with large client acquisitions and implementation, especially for those seeking a self funded arrangement.

Jenni is a licensed agent with the California Department of Insurance and is an active member of the Central California Association of Health Underwriters and the National Association of Health Underwriters.

Jack began his career at Ahart Benefit Insurance Services in 1998 following his employment with several nationally known companies in a sales and marketing position.  Jack’s early roots in the insurance industry came from his pharmacy relations position at RxNet of California.

Jack was responsible for the overall advertising and promotion strategies for Ahart Benefit Insurance Services.  He has also been successful in the role of benefits consulting and has helped move the company forward and increase the number of new clients to the company portfolio.  He also devotes his time and energy to many local organizations and does a great job of representing the agency in the community.

Jack continues to be an integral part of the sales force at Ahart Insurance Services and has established his new role as a Senior Benefits Consultant.  He also continues to represent many large employers in the Central Valley who have been long standing clients here at AHART.

Jack is a licensed agent with the California Department of Insurance and is also an active member of the Central California Association of Health Underwriters and the National Association of Health Underwriters.

Aubrey joined the Ahart team in 2013 as an administrative assistant.  Her positive attitude and attention to detail has made her a valuable asset to our company.  During her time with Ahart, she has continued to take on more and more responsibility.  Aubrey has quickly become the “go to” staff member for a variety of tasks and has done an excellent job of learning the insurance industry.  We look forward to her continued growth with Ahart.

Nicole accepted a position at Ahart Insurance Services in 2001 following employement with a local advertising company. Since her start at Ahart, she has continually advanced to more challending positions and responsibilities.

Nicole is a Senior Account Manager and is responsible for the overall service of a variety of mid and large size clients.  Her willingness to adapt to the client’s needs and handle situations in a welcoming and professional manner has made her an asset to our clients and our team.

She is a licensed agent with the California Department of Insurance. In addition to her account management role, she has taken the lead in handling all of the Medicare and Individual products and policies. She is also certified in Medicare plans/products.

Sara’s career with Ahart Insurance Services began in 1998 as a part-time staff assistant.  Following her graduation from California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Management, Sara joined the company on a full-time basis.

Sara is responsible for account management services for both large group and small group accounts.  She handles all service issues, claim problems and the renewal process for her clients.  Her longevity with AIS means that she has also established valuable relationships with many of our long term clients.

Sara is a licensed agent with the California Department of Insurance and a valuable member of the Ahart Insurance Services team.

After graduating from California State University, Fresno, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing, Angela joined Ahart Benefit Insurance Services in 2003.  Angela has dedicated herself to learning the insurance industry and has advanced herself by receiving accreditation in additional insurance products.  She has become an integral part of the Ahart Insurance Services team and an invaluable assistant to her clients.

Angela is responsible for the agency’s voluntary insurance products and eligibility maintenance. She also manages all the day-to-day administration of the voluntary products from enrollment to claim filing.

Angela is a licensed agent with the California Department of Insurance.

Our History

1985 - AHART Launched

1985 Jack W. Ahart opens his own employee benefits focused insurance agency after having been in the insurance industry for 20+ years.  The agency is named Jack W. Ahart Insurance Services.

1997 - Jenni Villane Joins

1997 Jenni Villane leaves her position at Aetna US Healthcare and joins Jack’s team.  Shortly after in 1998, Jack Ahart, Jr. joins the family business.

1999 - Ahart Benefit Insurance Services

1999, The agency officially becomes Ahart Benefit Insurance Services and the growth plan for the future is set in motion.  Jack Sr. is focused on building an agency of young professionals who will be the foundation of the business in the years to come.

2000 - Dan Ward Joins

2000, Dan Ward leaves his position at Aetna US Healthcare and joins the AHART team to help move forward the goal of growing the agency.

2006 - New Officers

2006, Jack Ahart, Sr., includes Dan & Jenni as minority owners of the business.

2013 - Dan Ward & Jenni Villane purchase the agency.

2013, Dan Ward & Jenni Villane purchase the agency from Jack Ahart, Sr.  The agency is renamed Villane Ward Insurance Services, Inc. dba: Ahart Insurance Services.  The AHART team remains focused on providing the quality services that has built the agency reputation.  Ahart Insurance Services also embraces the foundation of integrity and building solid client relationships that Jack Ahart, Sr. used as the cornerstone of his success.

2015 - Ahart Investment Advisors

The newest piece of the Ahart portfolio of services, Ahart Investment Advisors, is created to help plan sponsors establish quality retirement programs.
